ANNA KALAMKARIAN 

Anna is the Publications Director at Young Australians in International Affairs (YAIA), where she is passionate about bringing international affairs closer to Australian audiences and supporting young Australians to engage in global policy conversations.

Anna is currently completing a PhD in the School of Public Health at Adelaide University, where she researches multidimensional disadvantage in early childhood. Her broader interests lie in how complex social challenges intersect with questions of policy and governance. As a Global Voices Fellow in 2024, she participated in the United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development and produced a policy proposal on how governments can better collaborate to address complex disadvantage. She has also contributed to Australian strategic policy discussions through the Women in Strategic Policy Program and was part of the winning team in the 2025 Global Leadership Challenge, a joint initiative between the University of St. Gallen and the University of Oxford.

Through her work with YAIA, Anna supports the Fellowship Program, helping young Australians contribute to international affairs discourse through writing, publishing and policy engagement.
